Information Technology Services MissionIn keeping with the SUNY Fredonia Vision, Information Technology Services (ITS) at SUNY Fredonia strives to serve the electronic information needs of the students, faculty, staff, administration, and all other SUNY Fredonia constituents in their fulfilling of the University's mission. The primary objectives of Information Technology Services are to provide:
DepartmentsThe Administrative Office is responsible for developing and implementing the institutional technology vision and objectives to support the needs of students, faculty, and staff as articulated in the mission statement. This development is done in collaboration with the Information Technology Services Executive Board, ITS staff members, and the Information Technology Advisory Board (ITAB) and associated Steering Committees. Policy and procedure development, project and budget management, and technology consultations are provided by this office.
Academic Information Technology (AIT) provides a wide range of essential multimedia services for students, faculty and staff. Staff members are committed to meeting the needs of the campus community by providing instructional equipment through fixed classroom/computer lab installations and portable equipment in addition to supporting video teleconferencing, engineering, graphics services, and the research and implementation of new technologies.
Networking & Data Communication Networking and Data Communications is responsible for the installation and management of the wired and wireless network, network security, bandwidth and resource management and long term development of networking systems. The Computer Center staff is committed to improving customer productivity by enabling the use of tools and technologies to accomplish classroom instruction and conduct university business with a minimum of difficulty. Systems administrators in this unit are highly qualified technicians who provide support for several university mission-critical services such as the Exchange email system, the ANGEL Learning Management System, the Banner Information System, and the Fredonia web.
Programming and Project Management is responsible for database development and the integration, consolidation, and dissemination of data as appropriate. Primary support is given to maintaining and developing the Student Information System and web products enabling web registration, web access to personal information, and e-commerce.
