Senate Actions, 2019 - 2020

September 2019:

1.  Approved Andrea Zevenbergen, Distinguished Teaching Professor in Psychology, as 2019 - 2020 Senate Vice Chair; and

2.  Approved the rescinding of the Resolution on Leadership.

October 2019:

1.  Approved updated Chosen Name Initiative.

November 2019:

1.  Approved Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Cybersecurity;

2.  Approved Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Child Advocacy;

3.  Approved Data Science minor;

4.  Approved Resolution on Consensual Relationships Policy; and

• Senate voted to replace the existing Fredonia policy with the new SUNY policy so that our campus remains in compliance.  Since many view the policy as problematic, however, Senate also decided to task the Executive Committee with collecting concerns about the policy from Fredonia campus community members, then forwarding those concerns to the University Faculty Senate President.

5.  Approved updated Search Guidelines Task Force membership.

December 2019:

1.  Supported the University Faculty Senate Resolution on Elsevier Negotiations in full;

2.  Approved School of Business Reorganization Task Force membership; and

3.  Supported the University Faculty Senate/Faculty Council of Community Colleges Resolution on Presidential Searches in full.

July 2020 (special meeting):

1.  Approved Resolution to Endorse "Call For a Safer Fredonia Reopening Plan" Student Petition and "Safety with Standards" Revisions to Fredonia Reopening Plan; and

2.  Approved Resolution on Respecting Faculty and Professionals' Judgment During a Global Pandemic.
