The campus and surrounding communities are invited to attend SUNY Fredonia's annual Veterans Day of Remembrance Ceremony.
The event is slated for Friday, Nov. 6, at 3:30 p.m. in the Williams Center Multipurpose Room on campus.
The longstanding tradition is to honor, remember, and express deepest gratitude to the countless men and women who have served the country through the United States Armed Forces. The ceremony will feature reflections from veterans and student speakers, as well as the presentation of over $3,700 in Fredonia Veterans Scholarships to students connected to the veteran community.
To recognize the sacrifices, service, and dedication of the nation's veterans, organizers invite students, faculty, staff, alumni, veterans, military families, and community members to join the group in a meaningful observance.
SUNY Fredonia Music Education major Ava Hartung, ’28, will be singing the national anthem. The keynote address will be given by James Metcalf II, who is the Director of the Western New York National Cemetery in Pembroke, NY.
