Steven Doane, a renowned performer and pedagogue, will perform and present a master class at SUNY Fredonia.

A recital of Beethoven and Brahms will be presented by Mr. Doane in the Juliet J. Rosch Recital Hall on Friday, Jan. 30, at 8 p.m. His cello master class will be held in Harry A. King Concert Hall on Saturday, Jan. 31, at 10 a.m. Both the recital and master class are free and open to the public.
Doane has presented master classes in most major colleges in England, Scotland and Ireland.

Known internationally as an acclaimed soloist, chamber musician and teacher, Doane is a professor of cello at the Eastman School of Music and recipient of the Eisenhardt Award for Excellence in Teaching. He has been a member of the Eastman faculty since 1981 and is also a visiting professor and Fellow of the Royal Academy of London.

The Fredonia Cello Society is supporting Doane’s campus visit.
