Faculty and staff are being asked to join together in support of students by participating in this year’s All-Campus Appeal.
The annual tradition gives employees the opportunity to make a personal impact by contributing to scholarships, academic programs, and other student-focused initiatives.
Gifts from faculty and staff — no matter the size — send a powerful message to students: that those who teach, mentor, and support them every day also believe in their potential and want to see them succeed.
“Faculty and staff giving is about more than dollars raised,” said Jenn Michalek, associate director of Development. “It shows our students that their community is invested in them and united in our mission to provide an excellent, supportive learning environment.”
Contributions to the All-Campus Appeal can be directed to any department, program, or scholarship fund of the donor’s choosing. Employees may also make unrestricted gifts, which give the university the flexibility to respond to its most pressing needs — whether that means funding innovative academic initiatives, supporting student research, or providing emergency aid to students in need.
“I've given through payroll deduction for as long as I've worked at Fredonia. I think it's important to give back to the institution that's given me such great opportunities. I love that I can select where my donation goes. — Christopher LaGrow, senior associate director of the Career Development Office.
Senior Associate Director of Career Development Christopher LaGrow noted his commitment to the appeal, “I've given through payroll deduction for as long as I've worked at Fredonia. I think it's important to give back to the institution that's given me such great opportunities. I love that I can select where my donation goes. This enables my gift to support something very important to me personally and professionally: the Judith A. Elwinger Career Development Internship Endowment. Judy gave me the opportunity to work here and was a mentor in whose footsteps I'm honored to follow. Internships are the most important career experience a student has while in college, and the funding from this endowment can help make this critical part of their career journey affordable.”
Every gift counts, regardless of size. By participating, employees collectively help ensure that students have the resources, opportunities, and encouragement they need to thrive both at SUNY Fredonia and in their future careers.
Faculty and staff can make a recurring gift through payroll deduction, a one-time gift online, or by sending a check payable to Fredonia College Foundation along with the pledge card that will be delivered to campus mailboxes.
The All-Campus Appeal underscores a simple but powerful truth: when employees give back, students benefit. Participation demonstrates campus-wide commitment and strengthens the community that makes Fredonia a place where students can succeed.
