Ashley Dame-Marino, vice president of the Fredonia Alumni Association Board of Directors
The SUNY Fredonia Alumni Association Board of Directors met Thursday, Nov. 14 for its annual meeting.
Board member Ashley Dame-Marino, ’09, ’11, was elected vice president, replacing Dan Goodwin, who resigned his seat in August. Ashley is the Assistant Director of English as a New Language for Greece Central School District of the Rochester area.
Her SUNY Fredonia days included time as a Resident Assistant and Residence Hall Director. “I learned about leading my peers and have lifelong friendships from the ResLife staff,” she said. Her many field experiences and year-long student teaching in the Fredonia-Hamburg program helped prepare her well for her career in education.
What advice would she give SUNY Fredonia students now?
“Get involved!”
Ashley’s family includes her husband, Joe, and their Goldendoodle, “Jilly.”
Rounding out the slate of officers for the alumni association board of directors are President Christine Zimmerman Starks, ’91, ’94; Secretary Jo McNamara, ’88, and Treasurer Dawn Spicer-Dake, ’88, each re-elected for another year. The annual meeting included a 2025 Homecoming debrief as well as discussion around planned committee formation for By-laws and Board Nomination Process Review; Revenue Generation; Regional Programming; and the Distinguished Alumni Awards relaunch.
