A Winter Storm Warning continues to be in effect for portions of western New York, including Chautauqua County, through Wednesday. As of now, the village of Fredonia plans to enact a Travel Advisory from 6 p.m. Monday to 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
Usually, the decision to cancel classes due to severe weather is made early that same day. However, this is an extraordinary situation as students have been away from campus for the winter break, and many are still trying to return. Therefore, we have decided to cancel all classes and activities on Wednesday, January 21. This early notification gives those who need it a chance to reschedule travel plans. It also gives our facilities services team the opportunity to clear roads and sidewalks to allow for safe travel when classes resume.
Students who purchased tickets through the Fredonia Ticket Office for charter bus and/or shuttle service should keep an eye on their email for rescheduling information.
Required orientation and advising activities will transition to online workshops. New students should look for an email with updated details and program links.
FSA is planning to maintain a normal schedule of operations at Starbucks, Cranston Marche, and Willy C’s all week. The cafes on campus will be closed on Wednesday.
To our faculty and staff, individuals designated as essential personnel for weather events must report to work tomorrow and Wednesday. Non-essential employees who are unable to work should charge appropriate accruals. Please discuss any questions with your supervisor.
