Crystal Robinson, a fourth-semester Resident Assistant in Grissom Hall, has been named RA of the Month for February by the Office of Residence Life.

Ms. Robinson, a senior from Queens, has a major in English Adolescence Education and minor in Music. Her hobbies include drinking Starbucks beverages, writing poetry, watching Netflix/Hulu/YouTube and listening to music.

Robinson’s favorite part of the RA position has been “... being able to connect with and support the residents …” and adds, “being someone that residents trust with so many things is the best reward of the job.”

Richard Sanders, who is Resident Director of Grissom Hall, who nominated Robinson for the award, noted, “Crystal has always demonstrated a positive and professional attitude toward the position, residents and staff.”

Mr. Sanders continued, remarking that Robinson’s “community building skills have developed dramatically this semester and her applied skills for crisis management and empathy skills have also been incredibly impressive so far this semester.”

Through her interactions with the position, Robinson has also shown a great understanding of student development.
