A winter storm warning has been issued for our area, and much of upstate New York, from Sunday, January 25, through Monday, January 26. Twelve to 18 inches of snow is expected across the entire region.

SUNY has already directed all non-essential employees to telework statewide on Monday. For that reason, and due to anticipated snowfall, SUNY Fredonia is cancelling face-to-face classes and activities on Monday, January 26. Only Online and LDI (Live Digital Instruction) courses should continue to meet as scheduled.

FSA will continue its normal operations at Cranston Marché, Starbucks, and Willy C’s. The cafés across campus will be closed on Monday.

Essential employees should report to work as normal on Monday. That includes our hard-working Facilities Services team, who will continue to clear campus roads and sidewalks throughout the storm. We thank them in advance for their dedication to student and employee safety! If you are non-essential, please help the grounds crew out by not coming to campus.

Along with the snowfall, dangerous wind chills will impact our area through the weekend. Please take proper precautions to protect yourself by bundling up in layers, wearing gloves and a hat, and limiting your time outdoors.

We will communicate on Monday regarding the status of operations for Tuesday.

Stay safe and stay warm!
