SUNY Fredonia’s Department of Communication Disorders and Sciences recently hosted its continuing education conference.
“The ADHD and Executive Function Lens for Practitioners,” event welcomed 85 participants to campus. Attendees included local speech-language pathologists, educators, mental health counselors, Fredonia alumni, and current students.
Led by Valerie Mackiewicz, M.S., AACC, CACP, the workshop explored evidence-based strategies for understanding and supporting individuals with ADHD and executive function challenges across school-based and clinical settings. Participants gained practical tools and strategies to enhance their professional knowledge and skills while connecting with colleagues across disciplines. The event provided a valuable opportunity for professional development, interdisciplinary collaboration, and continued community engagement through SUNY Fredonia.
