Dr. Natalie Gerber
Dr. Natalie Gerber had her article published in the peer-reviewed journal affiliated with the Robert Frost Society.
The article is titled, “Drama vs. Dogma: A Consideration of 'A Dramatic Reading' of A MASQUE OF REASON by Robert Frost.”
The society is an allied organization of the Modern Language Association (MLA) dedicated to promoting scholarship and discussion on the life and works of poet Frost.
Dr. Gerber, of the Department of English, noted that while the occasion is a rare reading of a Frost masque, the article is a larger consideration of Frost's failed ambitions in writing dramas as opposed to his remarkable success in “North of Boston: in writing dramatic lyrics. The article also suggests that Frost's fundamental notions of religious dogma and of the dramatic element in poetry are opposed.
