An empowering presentation, “Beyond the Paycheck: Generational Wealth and Building for the Future,” will be held Thursday, Feb. 19.

The event will be presented in the Blue Lounge in the Williams Center from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., by Dr. Tracy P. Johnson, who is vice president for Student Affairs at SUNY Oneonta.

The talk, the next installment in the Intercultural Center Speaker Series in celebration of Black History Month, will explore how students can build long-term financial stability through ownership, smart decision-making and increased economic awareness.

Dr. Johnson will challenge attendees to think beyond immediate earnings and consider how education, ambition and informed choices can become lasting assets. Participants will also gain insight into navigating systems that were not designed with everyone in mind and begin envisioning how to build a legacy that extends well beyond a paycheck.

A student-moderated fireside chat is also included.

The program, sponsored by Multicultural Support Services under the supervision of the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and the Faculty Student Association, is free and open to the public. Complementary refreshments will be served.
