Professor Ici Vanwesenbeeck and Reed Library will launch the “Let's Talk Higher Ed” Discussion Series.
Dr. Vanwesenbeeck, a professor of English, is partnering with Reed Library in presenting the new discussion series centered on articles from The Chronicle of Higher Education. The series will bring together faculty, staff, administrators, students, and emeritus faculty for informal conversations about the issues shaping higher education today.
Reed Library's subscription provides the campus community with free access to The Chronicle, which will serve as the foundation for each discussion.
The inaugural discussion on Wednesday, Sept. 30 at noon in Garden@Reed will be led by Michael Sheehan, an associate professor of Creative Writing, who selected the Chronicle of Higher Education article, "St. John's College Is Weird. Maybe Yours Should Be More Like It."
Associate Professor Sheehan joined SUNY Fredonia in 2019 after teaching at Stephen F. Austin State University, the University of Arizona and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. A former fellow of the Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing, he is the author of Proposals for the Recovery of the Apparently Drowned and has published widely in literary journals including AGNI, Electric Literature, and Conjunctions.
