“Managing Stress in Music Education,” a book by School of Music Professor Christian Bernhard, was recently released in a paperback edition by Routledge publications.

In the book, Dr. Bernhard presents research, theory, possible pitfalls and strategies for music teachers looking to navigate the challenging climate of potential stressors. Through a wide range of topics that include sleep, physical movement, nutrition, happiness, gratitude and mindfulness, Bernhard offers music educators the tools to thrive in a work environment that can often lead to stress and burnout.

The hardcover edition of the book was published in 2021.

A sequel book by Bernhard, “Flourishing in Music Education,” is now in production with Routledge and scheduled for release later in the calendar year.
