The Office of Residence Life is working to enhance students’ access to information and activities.

Counselor in Residence Miranda Shelanskey, LCSW, who lives at University Commons, noted a variety of resources is available to students. Due to social distancing requirements and the strain on mental health, a designated bulletin board is in the lobby of each residence hall where students can get information about accessing the Counseling Center, mental health resources, programming and available phone apps.

In addition, Residence Life has taken on three undergraduate Fredonia Social Work interns, Kaylee Brown, Calla Bellis and Victoria Soshskin, and a Fredonia alumna and State University at Buffalo graduate intern, Bri Leber, to assist in creating virtual programming and providing wellness resources and support to students in residence halls. Currently, the interns are also researching and creating a proposal with Counseling Center intern Matt Sodaro for a peer support program to continue to diversify the mental health support offered by the campus.
