Virtual study abroad workshops planned for students

The Office of International Education will conduct a series of virtual workshops to assist students who would like to study abroad.

The Study Abroad 101 Workshop, for students thinking of studying abroad, but who are uncertain where to start, will cover program options, application processes, costs, financial aid and other important areas. Workshops are scheduled at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19 and 26; Thursday, Sept. 3; Friday, Sept. 11; Monday, Sept. 14; and Wednesday, Sept. 23.

A virtual workshop that covers Gilman scholarships, which provide students up to $5,000 to support their study abroad experience, is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9, Friday, Sept. 11, Monday, Sept. 14; Wednesday, Sept. 23 and Tuesday, Sept. 29. Gilman scholarships are designed for students who receive a Pell Grant as part of their financial aid award. The Office of International Education will go over the application process and give special attention to the essay component.

Students interested in attending either workshop are to email the Office of International Education to obtain Zoom login information.
