Lifelong WNY Resident chooses SUNY Fredonia to leave legacy
Bob Young's gift of $100,000 will have a profound impact on the School of Music by enhancing its ability to furnish scholarships to talented students and fund programs that assist in the recruitment of high school students or enrich the experiences of SUNY Fredonia students.
Alumni christen Marvel lobby in memory of great teacher
A half-century after the death of beloved teacher Dr. Georgiana von Tornow, alumni returned to christen the lobby of the 400-seat Marvel Theatre in memory of the former speech and drama teacher who is considered the founder of SUNY Fredonia's theatre arts program. In addition to financial gifts for a new scholarship and lobby naming, alumni also donated photographs, newspaper clippings and other memorabilia from their theatre experiences with Dr. von Tornow. Those items have been mounted in two large books that can be viewed at the Alumni House.
