Supporting students in STEM, health, and licensed professions at SUNY Fredonia.

The Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program is a New York State Education Department grant funded opportunity program designed to help economically eligible students enrolled in majors that are based in STEM or the licensed professions. Support focuses on preparing the student to succeed academically, professionally, and personally while completing challenging course work. Through academic support, enrichment activities, and career preparation, CSTEP helps students stay on track to graduation and beyond.

At SUNY Fredonia, CSTEP offers more than academic assistance. Students become part of a supportive community that emphasizes hands-on learning, professional development, and preparation for graduate school and careers.

CSTEP students receive a wide range of academic and professional support, including:

  • One-on-one tutoring provided by the learning lab
  • Career and graduate school preparation, including workshops and advising
  • Hands-on learning opportunities, such as research and applied projects
  • STEM enrichment activities and club meetings
  • Educational field trips to labs, industry sites, and conferences
  • Financial support and stipends for eligible activities including research
  • Mentorship and community with peers, faculty, and staff
