The Arts of Italy is a short-term study abroad program in Italy.
The faculty will be hosting an information session on Tuesday, Nov. 10 for students interested in learning more about the experiential learning opportunity. The session is slated for 6 p.m. in Rockefeller Arts Center Room 236.
Information about requirements and how to apply is available on the class website.
The program, slated to run from May 23 to June 7, 2027, and mainly based in Florence, is described as an opportunity to study Renaissance painting, sculpture, and architecture for 15 days in Italy with day trips to Fiesole, Siena, and two days of hiking and relaxing on the Mediterranean coast at Cinque Terre. Course instructors include Associate Professor Peter Tucker of the Department of Visual Arts and New Media and Dr. David Kinkela of the Department of History.
It is a 3-credit study abroad course for all majors and can be taken as ARTH 399 or INED 390 through SUNY Fredonia. Students at other SUNY schools can easily arrange to take the course for credit.
