Bronwyn Madden had two goals and one assist, leading the Fredonia State women's soccer team to a 3-2 win over Buffalo State, as the Blue Devils helped Coach Chris Case to his 200th career victory Wednesday night at University Stadium.

With the Battle by the Lake victory, Fredonia improved to 9-3-3 overall, 3-0-3 in the SUNYAC, and clinched a first-round bye in the SUNYAC Tournament.

In just the fifth minute, Madden scored her first goal, with an assist from Alyssa Sabato. Sabato chipped her pass over the Buffalo State defense and Madden ran in on a breakaway.

By the 49th minute, Madden netted her second goal. Ten minutes later, she assisted Haley Drinon in securing the game-winning goal when Drinon jumped on a rebound off a Madden shot.

The Bengals threatened a late comeback with back-to-back goals from Olivia Kilmer in the 61st and 84th minutes. Devil goalkeeper Alyssa Hatch kept the net empty the rest of the way and finished with four saves.
