Jelinski's OT goal sends Devils into semifinal round

Kyle Jelinski (Edmonton, Alberta) made a triumphant return from a near season-ending injury to score the game-winning overtime goal Wednesday as Fredonia defeated SUNY Buffalo State, 3-2, in the first round of the SUNYAC men's hockey tournament.

Strong finish extends season

The Fredonia women's basketball team finished its opening-round playoff game on a 9-0 run en route to a 59-51 upset victory over Oneonta on Tuesday. The Devils entered the tournament as the No. 6 seed while the Red Dragons were the No. 3 seed.

The quartet of Marcus Torres, Mike DeLand, Michael Salvati, and Alec Wright won the 4-by-400 meter relay Saturday during the men's portion of the RIT Last-Chance indoor track and field meet.

First goals by pair carry Devils over Morrisville, 3-2

It was a day of first for two playoff-bound Fredonia Blue Devils in their 3-2 win over the Morrisville State Mustangs, the final regular-season of the men's hockey season. Sophomore defenseman Tommy Martyn and freshman winger Tanner Kahlau each scored their first collegiate goals in the victory, a prelude to the upcoming SUNYAC Tournament. Next up is a conference first-round game Wednesday at SUNY Buffalo State.

OT loss gives Devils No. 6 seed

Facing a win-and-in scenario for the SUNYAC playoffs, the Fredonia women's basketball team was taken to overtime by Buffalo State and fell 76-71. The Devils (11-14 / 8-10) will travel to Oneonta on Tuesday in the first round of the tournament to take on the No. 3 seed Red Dragons.

Plattsburgh edges Fredonia at Pink The Rink '19

Fredonia celebrated Pink The Rink 2019 on Saturday after falling to Plattsburgh, 3-2, in SUNYAC men's hockey. The 13th annual event culminated with presentation of the Blue Devils' jerseys during an on-ice ceremony honoring cancer survivors. This year's tally ups the all-time total donation to The American Cancer Society to over $90,000.

Kalsman triples at Cortland

Sophomore Erin Kalsman (Portville/Portville) was a triple winner at Cortland on Saturday as the Fredonia women's swimming and diving team lost 184-84. Kalsman was first in the 50-yard freestyle (26.29), the 200 backstroke (2:17.99), and the 400 IM (5:01.15).

Devils share the ball in home win over Potsdam

A balanced scoring attack carried Fredonia over Potsdam, 54-39, in SUNYAC women's basketball Sunday afternoon at Dods Hall. The Blue Devils moved into fifth place, one-half game ahead of Brockport, which visits Dods Hall in the final home game on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
