103 Blue Devils make SUNYAC academic honor roll

Fredonia placed 103 student-athletes on the 2018-19 SUNYAC Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll, the conference announced. All of Fredonia's 17 teams had at least one recipient, who are recognized for attaining a grade-point average of 3.30 or higher during the past academic year.

Signups begin for Fredonia Alumni Golf Tournament

Registration is underway for the Fredonia Alumni Golf Tournament, a popular event that raises money to support scholarships for students at Fredonia, to be held on Friday, July 19, at Shorewood Country Club, 4958 W. Lake Road, Dunkirk. Sponsored by Fredonia University Police and the Fredonia College Foundation, the annual tournament has raised nearly $200,000 since 2009, with net proceeds going to scholarships.

Awards aplenty at 2019 FREDDYS

Fredonia's annual gala -- now known as The FREDDYS -- was held May 7 at Rosch Recital Hall, with awards presented to top student-athletes, to retiring administrators, and others who made notable contributions during the 2018-19 academic year. A tie in voting resulted in Eric Bogart of men's ice hockey and Luke Kuczewski of baseball sharing the Male Athlete of the Year award.

Senior pitcher Luke Kuczewski (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) was named First Team All-SUNYAC for the second straight year, and outfielder Russ Mistretta (Buffalo/Canisius) was named as a Second Team outfielder.

FREDDYS coverage to include Facebook Live

Fredonia Athletics' annual awards night,now named The FREDDYS, will be covered from the red carpet to the final awards tonight. A Facebook Live webcast of student-athletes making their way to the event across the red carpet will begin shortly after 5 p.m. from outside Mason Hall on the Fredonia campus.
