Dr. Matthew Purtill
Department of Geology and Environmental Sciences Assistant Professor Matthew Purtill recently had a paper published on the potential impacts of sampling bias in archaeological practice.
The paper, "More than Just Clovis: The Broad Impact of Sampling Bias on Archaeological Site Distributions," appears in the Journal of Archaeological Method and Theory, a leading journal in its field.
Dr. Purtill’s paper explores how sampling bias has potentially influenced our understanding of archaeological site distributions and suggests some methods to deal with this problem.
