The Fredonia State men's cross country team enters the 2026 season with momentum and a proven championship core under Head Coach Tom Wilson.
The Blue Devils will compete in a seven‑meet slate that includes the Kara Hall Memorial Invitational on Oct. 2 and culminates with Fredonia hosting the NCAA Division III Niagara Regional on Nov. 14.
Junior Steve Hallberg headlines the returning group after a breakout 2025 campaign in which he captured the SUNYAC individual title and was voted the conference's Runner of the Year. Hallberg ran 26:06.8 to win the league championship and later placed 23rd at the NCAA Niagara Regional in a personal‑best 25:56.4, earning All‑Region honors. Juniors Kevin Moser and Lucas Peterson‑Volz also return after earning Second‑ and Third‑Team All‑SUNYAC recognition, respectively, helping Fredonia State finish second at the conference meet — just seven points behind Cortland. Junior Edward Jourdan adds further experience after finishing inside the top 100 at regionals, giving the Blue Devils a veteran lineup capable of contending throughout the fall.
Fredonia State opens the season Sept. 5 at Brockport, then travels to Rochester and Roberts Wesleyan before returning home for the Kara Hall Memorial Invitational. The Blue Devils will close the regular season at Geneseo on Oct. 16 ahead of the SUNYAC Championship on Oct. 31 at Oneonta.
