Fredonia State men's hockey team faced off against the No. 3 ranked team in the nation, Geneseo, on Feb. 15. The Blue Devils' third period strike was enough to take down the Knights with a final score of 3-2. The Blue Devils were led by Matt Letmanski with one goal and an assist, and Ryan Bailey, who found the back of the net twice.

The Blue Devils scored their first goal of the game on a powerplay at the 12:35 mark of the first. After working the puck around the zone, Kurri Woodford found Bailey at the point, where his shot found its way through the goaltender.

Fredonia State was able to hold onto their 1-0 lead for the remainder of the first period.

Geneseo came out of the first intermission with a new found energy. The Knights were able to find the back of the net twice within the second period, while holding the Blue Devils off the score sheet and maintaining a 2-1 lead.

Fredonia State was out shot 22-7 in the second period. However, Fredonia State goalie Logan Dyck -- the reigning SUNYAC Goalie of the Week -- would make 40 saves on the night in another fine effort.

The third period was much different for the Blue Devils as they came out firing on all cylinders.

The Devils found themselves on the powerplay after a roughing penalty by Ryan Burnett, 4:07 into the third. The Blue Devils maximized their opportunity and were able to convert their second powerplay goal of the game. At the 5:32 mark of the third period, Ethan Kirbis found Letmanski for the game tying goal, 2-2.

Bailey capped the scoring with the game-winning goal with 11:41 left to play. He found the rebound on the back door after a shot from Letmanski.
