After taking over the reigns as the interim coach of the Fredonia State baseball program in January, Jordan Basile was officially named the head coach following a national search. Basile, a 2009 grad and Hall of Famer, brings an extensive resume to the team.

Following his playing career, he volunteered one year at Fredonia State. He then moved on to Division I University at Buffalo. He would earn his master's degree with a stint at Division II Lake Erie College. He moved on to the Junior College level, guiding Patrick Henry Community College -- first as an assistant coach, then taking over the program for two seasons. In his first year as a head coach at PHCC he found his team one game away from the College World Series with a 38-16-1 record, and compiled a two-season mark of 64-32-1. He then took over as the head coach at Jamestown Community College.

Basile has coached 10+ players who were selected in the MLB draft and of those, two who have reached the Major Leagues.

Basile worked with player development in the Detroit Tigers organization in 2011, and is involved involved with the Secrets of Champions as an Integrated Performance Coach. He also managed the Jamestown Tarp Skunks of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) the past two summers.

Basile takes over for his former coach, Matt Palisin after 19 years at the helm. Basile was part of the school's most successful season in 2009 when they went 26-12 and played host to the ECAC Regional Tournament, while also winning the SUNYAC batting title. Basile was an All Conference and All Region player and is among the leaders in many Blue Devils batting categories, including the season and career hit marks.
