Bigham, Phillips cap careers with All-SUNYAC honors

Seniors Pat Bigham and Tyler Phillips capped their baseball careers at Fredonia State by earning Second Team All-SUNYAC honors. 

Phillips led the team and finished seventh in a loaded conference with a .380 batting average. He set a school record with 25 stolen bases, while adding nine doubles, a triple, and two homeruns. He led the team with 24 RBI.

For his career, he tied Taylor Gahagen (2011) with 49 stolen bases. His career batting average of .347 ranks 11th all time.

Bigham put up solid numbers out of the cleanup spot. He batted .352 with 11 doubles, two triples, and four homeruns. His 20 RBI ranked second on the team, and he struck out just six times in 108 at bats.

The 4 x 100 relay team of Cameron Sample, Jordan Lockett, Jacob Winn, and Nick Marsowicz set a new Fredonia State outdoor record, finishing the race in 42.19 seconds. It was a regional-qualifying time, and .17 seconds behind the first-place Cortland team.

Pellechia earns fourth SUNYAC title

For the fourth time in four tries, pole vaulter Cara Pellechia can call herself a SUNYAC Champion. Pellechia cleared 3.50m to take the outdoor title at the SUNYAC Meet on Friday.
