Sam Evans scored the lone goal of the match and Thomas McDonald recorded a shutout as the Fredonia State men's soccer team clinched a SUNYAC Tournament berth with its 1-0 conference victory over SUNY Delhi on Saturday afternoon at University Stadium.
Evans accounted for the game's only scoring in the 25th minute, tallying his second goal of the season when he found the back of the net at the 24:51 mark of the opening half. The unassisted strike proved to be the difference as the Blue Devils improved to 6-4-4 overall and 4-2-0 in conference play.
McDonald made two saves to secure the clean sheet, helping the Fredonia defense withstand eight SUNY Delhi shots.
