The SUNY Fredonia Brown Bag Lunch Series will continue on Wednesday, Oct. 7.
The event is slated for noon in Williams Center Rooms S204-ABC. The featured speaker is Melissa Lustic-Long, an assistant professor at Mercyhurst University, who will deliver a talk titled “Food for Thought: Evaluating Common Nutrition Claims.”
In her presentation, Lustic-Long will discuss frequently misunderstood and misinterpreted nutrition beliefs. The talk will explore the evolution of the beliefs, focusing on the evidence-based interpretation and application in humans, offering insights into both the actual application of the concept as well as how to critically assess social media posts.
The event is free and members of the campus and community are invited to attend. Sponsors include the Carnahan Jackson Humanities Fund of the Fredonia College Foundation.
