Campus event to collect clothes, food to benefit rural ministry

Operation Winter Rescue, an annual event to collect winter clothes and non-perishable food to benefit the Chautauqua County Rural Ministry, will be held at Fredonia on Friday, Feb. 21.
Donations of hats, gloves and coats, for the rural ministry’s Garment Gallery, and canned fruit and vegetables, cereal and soup, for its Emergency Food Pantry, will be collected at Williams Center Room G103C from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Items can also be dropped off earlier, in the McEwen Hall lobby and all residence hall lobbies, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 18 to 20.
Operation Winter Rescue is hosted by the Chi Pi chapter of Alpha Phi Omega in conjunction with the campus’ Office of Volunteer and Community Services. Rural ministry is a Dunkirk-based interfaith human service agency that assists families with food, clothing, shelter and work opportunities.
