Graduated senior Emily Carr was selected by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) to participate in its Division III Senior All Star Game.

The IWLCA featured Senior All-Star games for Division I, II, and III. The players selected in each Division were divided into two teams: North and South. The Senior All-Star games were held on Tierney Field at USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. on June 3. The Division II teams played the first game at 10 a.m. ET, the Division III game followed at 12:15 p.m., and the Division I teams capped  off the event with their game at 2:30 p.m.

In her four seasons at Fredonia State -- which included a pair of COVID-shortened years -- Carr started 43 of the team's 44 games in goal. Her 457 career saves rank fourth on the Devils' all-time list. The past two seasons, she led the SUNYAC in saves, with 190 in 2022, and 178 this season. She also ranked fourth in the conference this season with a .460 save percentage.

"Emily is the kind of goalie every coach wishes they had," said head coach Tori Poffenberger. "She was in my office at least two times a week reviewing film and typically on the field two more times a week doing goalie sessions. Though she was a goalie and did the least amount of running on the field, she was always in the top five during our workouts. All her hard work 100 percent translated to the field this year in her patience in cage and increased defensive and clearing I.Q. I wish I had more than one year to coach Emily, but I'm excited that she's being honored this weekend as an IWLCA All-Star. I'll be in Sparks cheering her on!"

Carr also got the job done in the classroom She earned recognition in the Chi Alpha Sigma national scholar-athlete society upon graduation with a degree in Physics.
