The Fredonia State women's lacrosse team improved to 4-0 with a 7-4 victory over visiting Nazareth at University Stadium on Saturday. Gabby Lewinski scored twice and added an assist to power the offense. Jessica Kowalski made fives saves as the Devils held the Flyer to just four goals.
The first quarter would be scoreless. The game's first goal was scored by Fredonia State's Noelle Mendez 22 seconds into the second frame. By the half, things were tied at 3-3.
Strong defensive play on both sides continued as Nazareth scored the only goal of the third to go up 4-3.
The fourth quarter was all Blue Devils. Leah Kunisch and Mieley Baran scored the first two goals of the fourth, and Lewinski would put an exclamation point on things with the game's final two goals.
For Naz, Allie Klestinec made 10 saves while giving up all 10 scores. The Flyers drop to 0-5.
