Devils compete at SUNYAC Meet

The men's track and field team competed in the SUNYAC Meet this past weekend, with three athletes and one relay squad earning team points.

Ted Tomasello was seventh in the 10,000m in 32:22.14. His time qualified for the Regional Meet.

Nick Abdo turned in a solid 50.33 in the prelims, which seeded him fifth. In the finals, he dropped to eight after experiencing some tightness, finishing in 1:02.95.

The 4x400 relay team finished seventh in 3:36.23. Griffin Dombroske, Patrick Klinger, Colin Cassidy and Josh Walters competed for the Devils.

Colin Cassidy finished fifth in the high jump with a height of 1.80m.

Dombroske turned in an eighth-place finish in the triple jump, with a distance of 13.16m.

The Fredonia State student-athletes got the job done on the field and in the classroom. A total of 130 received recognition on the Commissioner's List. To earn the recognition, a 3.30 Cumulative Grade Point Average through spring semester was needed.

Kumro now two-time All-SUNYAC

For the second-straight year, Nicole Kumro (Cheektowaga/West Seneca East) was honored with an All-SUNYAC selection at first base. The senior slugger ended the regular season with an offensive flurry and powered the team to a conference playoff berth.
