The Fredonia State softball team dropped both games of the SUNYAC Tournament on Thursday, bringing the 2022 season to a close.

Game 1
In the opening game, the offense was held to one hit in a 6-0 loss to Cortland. Marisa Sultana's fifth inning single was the Devils' only safety. Emily Chelius went the distance on the mound. She surrendered six runs on 12 hits and struck out five.

Game 2
With the Devils up 4-1, Plattsburgh put up a five-spot in the top of the sixth inning to take a 6-4 lead that would stand up and end Fredonia State's season.

Plattsburgh started the game by scoring in the top of the first on a walk, double, and sacrifice fly.

The Devils tied the game in the bottom of the second. Nicole Kumro singled and Chelius was hit by a pitch. Following a strikeout, the Devils would score when Plattsburgh's double play attempt on a ground ball resulted in an error on the throw to first, scoring Kumro.

The Devils scored three runs in the next inning. With one out, Alyssa Piniewski singled and sister Amber Piniewski reached on an error, putting runners at second and third. Maria Caviris roped a double to score two runs. Kumro then reached on an error that also scored Caviris. The Devils would maintain the 4-1 lead until the sixth.

Chelius started on the mound for the Devils, going five innings and giving up three runs while striking out three. She started the sixth, but gave up a pair of walks and a single to start the inning. Erin Cunningham came on in relief, giving up two hits and a walk while recording one out. Vanessa Galbraith would finish the final 1 2/3 innings, surrendering one hit and not allowing a run.
