Devils finish second at classic, tie for third time

The Fredonia State men's soccer team played to its second 0-0 tie of the season, and third tie overall vs. Geneva in the finale of the Blue Devil Classic. After scoring 12 times in its past two games, the Devils could not find the net on Saturday. 

Reigning SUNYAC Defensive Player of the Week Tanner Stutzman made seven saves to earn the shutout for the Blue Devils. Geneva goaltender Evan Shale stopped four shots on goal. 

Geneva outshot the Devils, 12-11, and held a 5-2 edge in corner kicks.

At the conclusion of the Classic, Brian Taylor, Jake Gennaro, and Camron Walsh were named to the All-Tournament Team. Fredonia State took second place with two ties. SUNY Buffalo State University won the Classic title, winning both of its games.

In the SUNYAC-opening contest, the Fredonia State men's basketball team took down SUNY Buffalo State University, 69-59, on Saturday. Keenan Roberts Jr. keyed the offense with 22 points, including 3-4 shooting from long range, and going 7-12 from the line.

Alexander 'graces' the Devils with 23 points in victory

As is usually the case, local SUNYAC rivals Fredonia State and SUNY Buffalo State University played a tight game until the Devils pulled away late for a 12-point, 70-58 victory at Buff State on Saturday. Fredonia State freshman Grace Alexander put up 23 points in the victory.

Fortin nets OT winner at Brockport

Xavier Fortin scored 48 seconds into overtime to give the Fredonia State men's hockey team a 4-3 victory at Brockport. Fortin, Ryan Bailey, and David Sudbrink were on the ice during the three-on-three. It was the first career goal for Fortin, a freshman defenseman.
