Devils tie with St. John Fisher

After a scoreless first half, Katie Sellers of the Fredonia State women's soccer team broke through with a goal in the 53rd minute to give the Devils a 1-0 lead. That lead would hold up until the 71st minute when St. John Fisher tied the game.

Sellers' second goal of the season was assisted by Bri Grazen, who leads the team with four assists.

Sabrina Suriani was credited with six saves in goal.

The Devils evened their season record to 2-2-2, while the Cardinals are now 2-0-3. Emma Osterhoudt scored their lone goal, and was assisted by Jackie Gervais. Avery Byrnes had three saves and gave up one goal.

Fisher outshot the Devils, 12-6, and held a 7-4 lead in shots on goal. 

The Devils open up SUNYAC play with a Wednesday evening contest at SUNY Buffalo State.

The Fredonia State baseball team extended its win streak to four games with 10-4 and 5-4 wins over visiting Hilbert College on Monday. Christian Pagano connected for a two-run homerun in Game 1, his third in as many games. Alex Gannon added a two-run blast of his own in the opener.

Day 2 results at Cortland

The 4x100 relay team took third place, and turned in a AARTFC qualifying time on the second day of the Cortland Classic on Saturday. Jacob Winn -- a member of the relay team -- also turned in a third place in the finals of the 100m dash.

After qualifying for the finals on Friday, Cara Pellechia finished fourth in the 100m dash, and also turned in a fifth-place finish in the 200m for the top two finishes for the Fredonia State women's track and field team.
