Dyck earns PrestoSports/SUNYAC GOTW Award

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced Geneseo's Dan Bosio, Fredonia State's Logan Dyck, and Geneseo's Domenic Garozzo as this week's PrestoSports Men's Ice Hockey Athlete, Goaltender and Rookie of the Week.

Senior forward Bosio led the Knights to a pair of conference road wins, defeating Plattsburgh 6-3 on Friday night before upending Potsdam, 12-2, on Saturday. Bosio scored a power play goal and added a pair of assists against the Cardinals. On Saturday, Bosio recorded a career-high six points with his second hat trick of the season along with three assists. Bosio sits tied for the team and conference lead with 14 goals on the season.

The Devils went 2-1 in SUNYAC play as Dyck made 96 saves over the week. He had a save percentage of .923 and a goals-against average of 2.69. He made 30 saves in a 5-3 win vs. Morrisville State; 31 saves in a 2-1 win over Buffalo State; and 35 saves in a 3-2 loss at Oswego. 

First-year forward Garozzo helped the Knights to a pair of conference road victories on the weekend. Against Plattsburgh on Friday, Garozzo tallied his first-career hat trick to propel the Knights to a 6-3 victory. He added an assist in Geneseo's 12-2 victory over Potsdam on Saturday as well.

Relay sets school mark

The 4 x 100 relay team of Cameron Sample, Jordan Lockett, Jacob Winn, and Nick Marsowicz set a new Fredonia State outdoor record, finishing the race in 42.19 seconds. It was a regional-qualifying time, and .17 seconds behind the first-place Cortland team.

Pellechia earns fourth SUNYAC title

For the fourth time in four tries, pole vaulter Cara Pellechia can call herself a SUNYAC Champion. Pellechia cleared 3.50m to take the outdoor title at the SUNYAC Meet on Friday.
