Dr. Courtney Wigdahl-Perry was part of a duo presenting updates on research conducted on Chautauqua Lake.

She and Allison Hrycik’s talk, “Chautauqua Lake Science-to-Action Update,” focused on the past year of work, including work done by two SUNY Fredonia Environmental Science seniors, and a quick overview of the activities currently going on during the summer. The talk was held in June at Smith-Wilkes Hall at Chautauqua Institution.

Dr. Wigdahl-Perry is joined this summer by SUNY Fredonia student Renee Jones, supported by endowments established through the Fredonia College Foundation to assist with summer research activities – the Holmberg Foundation/Dr. Robert Wettingfeld Science Endowment and the Joan and Jane (Schuster) Falcone Endowment for Scholarship and Research. Renee is working on nutrient addition experiments, testing different key nutrients to identify which triggers the most algae growth. She completed one experiment in June and will complete another in August.

Wigdahl-Perry is a faculty member in the Department of Biology.
