Visitors to Family Weekend can look forward to vibrant fall colors on display throughout the campus.

The Office of Campus Life has collaborated with various departments to arrange fun and engaging events for families and friends to enjoy during Family Weekend 2022, Friday through Sunday, Oct. 21 to 23.

Programming options range from performances on campus to ghost hunts at the historic Dunkirk Lighthouse.

Honors Program Director Natalie Gerber organized the 90-minute ghost hunts. There is limited space for the program, at a cost of $20 per person. The following ghost tour times are available on Saturday, Oct. 22:

  • 6 p.m. (16 slots available)
  • 7:30 p.m. (16 slots available)

Interested persons should email the lighthouse to sign-up and provide payment information for the first two tours.

At 9:00 p.m. there is a tour limited to Honors students and members of the Fredonia Honors Club; 16 slots are available, students should pre-register online. They will be notified as to how to pay to reserve their spot.

Ghost hunt tickets may sell out quickly, organizers note, but a discounted “regular tour” ticket for the Dunkirk Lighthouse will be available for $6. Those attending should mention that they are visiting Fredonia for Family Weekend and the discount will be applied. Regular tours are available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. “Our goal is to ensure that friends and families visiting have a terrific time by choosing programs that interest them,” said Director of Campus Life Mark Suida. “It's time to celebrate, fun, families, friends and the beautiful fall season in Western New York!”

Those who are interested in hosting a club or departmental event are asked to reach out to Mr. Suida in Campus Life, via email or call 716-673-3143. General questions regarding Family Weekend can be directed to Campus Life at 716-673-3143 or email.
