The Fredonia Chamber Choir joins the Western New York Chamber Orchestra for “Meditations” on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 3 p.m. at SUNY Fredonia.
The Western New York Chamber Orchestra opens it 2026-27 season at SUNY Fredonia with a program titled “Meditations.”
The concert, on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 3 p.m. in King Concert Hall, will feature the Fredonia Chamber Choir under the direction of Dr. Vernon Huff, who is director of choral activities at Fredonia.
Tickets are available 24/7 online and by phone (716) 673-3501) or in person at the Fredonia Ticket Office in the Williams Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The program features favorites from composers Gabriel Faure and Vaughan Williams, along with newer choral music from Morten Lauridsen.
The Chamber Choir will be featured on Lauridsen’s “Lux Aeterna,” while WNYCO violinist Gretchen Fisher will be the soloist on Williams’ “The Lark Ascending.”
The Western New York Chamber Orchestra, led by Artistic Director and Conductor Glen Cortese, is an ensemble-in-residence in the Fredonia School of Music. It is comprised of professional musicians from throughout western New York and northwest Pennsylvania.
