The 2025 Finance and Administration Outstanding Administrative Service Awards have been presented to five Fredonia employees.
The recipients’ collective service spans more than 80 years and all major departments within the Finance and Administration division. The awards highlight exemplary service that employees give to the campus.
Vice President of Finance and Administration Wayne Lynch noted, “Congratulations to all the recipients of this award. Being recognized by your peers is a true testament to the outstanding contributions you’ve made to this institution, and it’s an honor well deserved.”
Criteria for the award, now in its 23rd year include: outstanding Fredonia service attitude; creativity and resourcefulness in improving services; demonstrated team effort in everyday actions and positive attitude in dealing with students, faculty and staff.
Award recipients include:
- John Cole, from Professional Trades, is a Facility Operations Assistant 2 in the Grounds Landscaping Department. He began his career at Fredonia in 2008 as a Cleaner then was promoted in 2011 to Highway Equipment Operator and Facility Operations Assistant 2 in 2016. Mr. Cole is a resident of Fredonia, NY.
- Mary Ann Wykstra, from Custodial Services, is a Janitor in Gregory Hall. She began her career at Fredonia in 2010 as a Cleaner and promoted to Janitor in 2016. Ms. Wykstra is a resident of Cassadaga, NY.
- Wendy Decker, from Administrative Support, is an Administrative Assistant 1 in the Student Accounts Department. She began her career at Fredonia in 2019 as an Office Assistant 2 in Accounting/Accounts Payable and promoted to Administrative Assistant 1 in 2021. Ms. Decker is a resident of Fredonia.
- Terri Sutherland, a member of the Professional Staff and Faculty Student Association (FSA) Director of Human Resources. She started working at the university as a student and then as an Account Clerk in 2003. She was promoted to Human Resources Manager in 2011 and Director of Human Resources in 2023. Ms. Sutherland is a resident of Dunkirk, NY.
- Rita Zambotti, from the Faculty Student Association Operational Services, is an Assistant Service Worker at Willy C’s. She began her career at FSA in January 2004. Ms. Zambotti is a resident of Dunkirk.
