Dedication of renovated Houghton Hall to highlight Homecoming

The welcome mat will be rolled out during Homecoming, including on Friday afternoon, Oct. 14, for the dedication of the renovated and redesigned Houghton Hall that completes the transformation of STEM education at SUNY Fredonia.

Campus operations limited during semester break

Most campus buildings/businesses will be closed for 10 days, beginning on Friday, Dec. 24, through Sunday, Jan. 1, for the traditional break between fall and spring semesters. Limited hours of operation will be in effect at other facilities.

Revitalization, repair of Maytum/Reed/McEwen Plaza gets underway

SUNY Fredonia is improving the look and accessibility of campus, while preserving the vision of campus architect I.M. Pei and Partners, by initiating a major renovation of the plaza outside Maytum Hall, McEwen Hall and Reed Library.

Fredonia Technology Incubator announces transition

The State University of New York at Fredonia announced today that the Fredonia Technology Incubator will enter a transition phase with the pending departure of its executive director and the beginning of new initiatives to provide expanded opportunities for job growth in the community.

SUNY Fredonia's Wind Ensemble completing March tour

The SUNY Fredonia Wind Ensemble, which has delighted audiences on state, national and international tours since 1999, will perform at eight high schools throughout New York State during its spring tour. Evening concerts open to the public are scheduled at Pembroke High School on Monday, March 10, at 7 p.m.; West Genesee High School on Tuesday, March 11, at 7:30 p.m.; and Rondout High School, on Wednesday, March 12, at 7 p.m.

Overture begins on the Rockefeller Arts Center expansion

The curtain is expected to rise this spring on the next major act of the Rockefeller Arts Center expansion project. That’s when ground will be broken on the 40,000 square-foot addition to the iconic building which opened in 1969.

SUNY Fredonia employees receive Custodial Safety Incentive Awards

Eight SUNY Fredonia employees were formally recognized as recipients of Custodial Safety Incentive Awards at the 13th annual Custodial Services Awards Recognition luncheon held on Thursday, Jan. 9, at the Williams Center Horizon Room. Recipients of individual Safety Incentive Awards, based on building inspections conducted during the fall semester, included Julia Baughman, Rose McCune and Aida Hernandez, all of Kasling Hall; Kathy Walters, Mary Ann Wykstra, Juliana Krauter and Lori Martin, of the Williams Center; and Susan Lucas of the Campus and Community Childcare Center.

SUNY Fredonia recognizes five with Outstanding Administrative Service Award

Five longtime SUNY Fredonia employees whose collective service spans more than 110 years will be further linked together as recipients of Outstanding Administrative Service Awards for 2013. The awards, now in their 11th year, recognize exemplary service by employees in the five major departments of the Finance and Administration division.
