2018-2019 Campus Closings and Office Information

With some exceptions, campus buildings will be closed effective close of business Friday, Dec. 21, and will reopen Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019. Other offices will have limited hours during the first three weeks of January, see the schedule information.


SUNY Fredonia's Wind Ensemble completing March tour

The SUNY Fredonia Wind Ensemble, which has delighted audiences on state, national and international tours since 1999, will perform at eight high schools throughout New York State during its spring tour. Evening concerts open to the public are scheduled at Pembroke High School on Monday, March 10, at 7 p.m.; West Genesee High School on Tuesday, March 11, at 7:30 p.m.; and Rondout High School, on Wednesday, March 12, at 7 p.m.

SUNY Fredonia employees receive Custodial Safety Incentive Awards

Eight SUNY Fredonia employees were formally recognized as recipients of Custodial Safety Incentive Awards at the 13 th annual Custodial Services Awards Recognition luncheon held on Thursday, Jan. 9, at the Williams Center Horizon Room . Recipients of individual Safety Incentive Awards, based on building inspections conducted during the fall semester, included Julia Baughman, Rose McCune and Aida Hernandez, all of Kasling Hall; Kathy Walters, Mary Ann Wykstra, Juliana Krauter and Lori Martin, of the Williams Center; and Susan Lucas of the Campus and Community Childcare Center.

SUNY Fredonia recognizes five with Outstanding Administrative Service Award

Five longtime SUNY Fredonia employees whose collective service spans more than 110 years will be further linked together as recipients of Outstanding Administrative Service Awards for 2013. The awards, now in their 11th year, recognize exemplary service by employees in the five major departments of the Finance and Administration division.

College Lodge the focus of upcoming Brown Bag talk

The Fall 2013 Liberal Arts and Sciences Brown Bag Lecture Series will focus on, "Digital Futures: Technology's Promises and Perils." The series offers monthly informal talks by SUNY Fredonia faculty members. Each panel presentation is followed by a brief discussion and refreshments. The series begins on Wednesday, Oct. 9, with a panel on, “What Makes the Forests of the College Lodge Special.”

'Quit and Win' effort toward a tobacco-free campus

SUNY Fredonia is working to transition to a smoke-free campus by instituting a program called, “Quit and Win.” The free, 10-week tobacco quit program offered by the Counseling Center will help students, faculty, and staff combat the use of tobacco products. Participants who join the program will be offered support services through the New York Smokers Quitline and be eligible to win tobacco-free products.

SUNY Fredonia offers 10-week ice skating classes to the public

The 2013 Learn to Skate and Figure Skating classes have begun in 10-week sessions at SUNY Fredonia’s Steele Hall Ice Skating Arena.
