Sit! Stay! And prepare to have a good time when Rockefeller Arts Center presents Johnny Peers & The Muttville Comix for two “howling good” shows on Saturday, Dec. 1.

Show times are 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the Robert W. Marvel Theatre. The Kaleidoscope Family Series event is recommended for dog lovers from age 6 to 96. The show is approximately one hour.

Johnny Peers & the Muttville Comix is a slapstick comedy act like no other. Johnny leads over a dozen dogs through challenging and hilarious tricks as Johnny plays the straight man role in this fun-filled show.

Tickets are available through the Campus Ticket Office, online, in person or by phone at 716-673-3501.

A Ringling Brothers Clown College graduate, Peers has been working with dogs since he got his first puppy, Freckles, a beagle mix, from the humane society. Peers learned the ropes of traveling show business at an early age, while working for his father who was a concessionaire at Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.

Since their debut, the Muttville Comix have appeared on David Letterman, Primetime Live and Circus of the Stars. They have also performed at Disneyland, Busch Gardens, the Big Apple Circus, the Royal Hanneford Circus and the White House.

The stars of the performance are dogs, most of which were rescued from shelters or pounds. This includes Murphy, the ladder climbing fox terrier and Willy, the border collie who only answers to “sir.”

The Muttville Comix were the 2003 Animal Planet Pet Star winners and the Providence Journal-Bulletin calls the show, “…a truly funny, slapstick dog act.”

Johnny Peers & The Muttville Comix is sponsored by Fredonia Animal Hospital. The Kaleidoscope Family Series is sponsored by The Observer as part of the 2018-19 Lake Shore Savings Series.
