Fredonia’s Lucas West, a finalist last season on NBC’s “The Voice,” will perform as guest vocalist with a combo led by Dr. Nick Weiser for “Fall Into Jazz” on Sept. 11 at SUNY Fredonia.
Rockefeller Arts Center will kick-off Fredonia’s Bicentennial season with a performance to remember.
The 2026-27 season opens on Friday, Sept. 11, with “Fall Into Jazz” with special guest vocalist Lucas West at 7:30 p.m. in King Concert Hall.

“Fall Into Jazz” brings a jazz combo under the direction of Dr. Nick Weiser to the King stage for a night of syncopated rhythms, swing notes, and smooth harmonies. SUNY Fredonia’s own West joins as guest vocalist, bringing his powerful and expressive tone to this special event.
West placed third on Season 29 of “The Voice: Battle of Champions,” in 2026 and was John Legend’s finalist. He has performed in front of the likes of Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.
Based in Rochester, NY, West is a vocalist, instrumentalist, and songwriter who is “thought by many to be a strong force of the next generation of popular music.”
West considers it his mission to “pull from a variety of genres including rock, pop, jazz, soul and R&B, and bring it back to the mainstream.”
In addition to his run on “The Voice,” West had made a name for himself with his powerful rendition of the national anthem, which he has performed at two Buffalo Bills games.
The concert is a DFT Communications Pops Series event sponsored by WDOE and 96 KIX Country.
