Fredonia's Woods and Brown tabbed SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Athletes of the Week

Fredonia teammates Erin Woods and Sadie Brown have been picked as the first 2023 SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week, respectively.

Woods led Fredonia to a 2-0 start to the season with wins over Grove City and Thiel. She had 10 goals and three assists in the two contests. In an 11-9 win over Grove City, she scored twice and had three assists. Her third goal came at the start of the fourth quarter, putting the Devils up for good, 8-7. Woods dominated early against Grove City, scoring three of the team's first five goals as they built a 5-1 lead. They would win 20-11.

Brown led the Fredonia defense to two wins this past week. The Devils outscored their opponents 31-20 in two games. Brown was credited with five ground balls and two caused turnovers.

On April 25, Dods Hall on the campus of SUNY Fredonia was home to the annual Dunkirk-Fredonia Unified Basketball Game. In front of a raucous crowd, the two teams battled it out for four quarters.

The Fredonia State baseball team extended its win streak to four games with 10-4 and 5-4 wins over visiting Hilbert College on Monday. Christian Pagano connected for a two-run homerun in Game 1, his third in as many games. Alex Gannon added a two-run blast of his own in the opener.

Day 2 results at Cortland

The 4x100 relay team took third place, and turned in a AARTFC qualifying time on the second day of the Cortland Classic on Saturday. Jacob Winn -- a member of the relay team -- also turned in a third place in the finals of the 100m dash.
