Madison Ghosen, a senior from Buffalo, NY, was named December Resident Assistant of the Month by Residence Life.

Madison is a third semester RA and is a Childhood Education major. During her time on campus, Madison has been involved with groups including Orchesis, the Teacher Education Club and the International Buddy Program. Madison also works at the Cranston Marche.

When asked about her favorite things about Fredonia, Madison said “My favorite thing about SUNY Fredonia is how welcoming it is. The dorm, the welcome tent, our hall meeting, I remember almost every detail of the day I arrived on campus. I was so lucky, and am eternally grateful, to have met some really amazing people while I studied here. I even got the chance to be that welcoming face this semester. When I’m student teaching in Buffalo, I’m really going to miss that cozy feeling of belonging that came so quickly here.”

After graduation, Madison’s plans include “student teaching, take my certification exams, graduating, substitute teaching, get my master’s degree, and becoming an English teacher at a school in Buffalo. I hope to attend professional conferences and to be involved in my community wherever I go.”

Madison was nominated by Nixon Hall Residence Director Heather Williams. Heather’s praise of Madison includes, "Madison does an amazing job here in Nixon Hall. She also does the Resident of the Month which highlights an amazing Nixon Hall resident for doing great work within the hall. Madison is always willing to lend a helping hand whenever I or another RA needs help. Madison has been a wonderful role model for our four new RAs this semester and has been able to assist them whenever they needed help with something. She has demonstrated wonderful leadership skills and has created a welcoming community for those who live in Nixon Hall.”
