Global Banquet slated for Nov. 18

The 6th annual Global Banquet, which raises money to support international student scholarships, will be held on Thursday, Nov. 18, at 6:30 p.m. in the Williams Center Multipurpose Room. It is open to students, faculty, staff and community members.

The buffet style dinner – representative of the home countries of Fredonia’s international students – will include: tabouli salad, seaweed salad, breaded pork chop, bulgogi, vegetable curry, vegetable dumplings, vegetable tempura, tiramisu and assorted beverages.

Performances by Fredonia students and a theme basket raffle will also be featured.

The banquet is hosted by International Student Services and is free to Fredonia students who have a ticket. Tickets, for non-students, are $20 and are available at the Fredonia Ticket Office in the Williams Center.

Yan Jiang, a SUNY Fredonia sophomore double major in Public Accountancy and Business Administration-Finance, was one of 52 students from throughout the State University of New York selected to receive the Norman R. McConney Jr. Award for Student Excellence.

Distinguished SUNY Fredonia alumni — Reginal “Reg” Spiller, who is President and CEO of Azimuth Energy LLC and CEO of subsidiary Azimuth GIS-E, and Tim Zulawski, who is President of AMB Sports and Entertainment — will be the keynote speakers for Commencement at SUNY Fredonia.
