Hall of Fame inductees

Reservations for the 2020 Fredonia State Athletics Hall of Fame have begun.

This year, the ceremony will be held in Mason Hall Room 1080.

The Athletics Hall of Fame Induction and Dinner is Saturday, Oct. 8, starting with a reception at 5 p.m. inside the Dods Hall Gymnasium. The dinner will begin at 6 p.m. and the ceremony will follow dinner.

Cost of each dinner ticket is $50. There will be a cash bar. Attire is business formal.

All ticket reservations must be made through the Fredonia Campus Ticket Office, either in person or via the internet.

The ticket office is located on the first floor of the Williams Center and is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. (closed Sundays and holidays).

Online ticket orders will be assessed a $6 surcharge, regardless of the number of tickets in the order.

The registration deadline is Oct. 5. No tickets will be mailed out. Instead, they will be available only at Will Call inside Dods Hall the night of the dinner.

Five individuals and three teams make up the Class of 2020. The individuals are Greg Prechtl ('69) of men's basketball, Jordan Basile ('09) of baseball, Walt Hubbard ('93) of basketball, Matt Borchard ('06) from men's soccer, and Sarah Hite-Moore ('05) from women's track and field.

The teams of distinction are the 1981 men's cross country team, the 1985 and 1986 men's soccer teams, and the 1993 men's basketball team. Two of the three teams were previously recognized at past Hall of Fame dinners, but will be officially inducted at this year's event.

The dinner will conclude a weekend of activities geared toward Fredonia State alumni and former student-athletes. Plans currently include a golf outing, the annual Ruterbusch 5K, unveiling of a track and field banner and tribute to Dr. Everett Philips, a men's soccer alumni game, women's volleyball, men's and women's swimming and diving and a men's soccer contest against Potsdam.
