Alanna Herne was selected to take over the head coach position for the Fredonia State lacrosse program for the 2022 season.

A three-time All-Region player at SUNY Buffalo State College, Herne was also a three-time All-SUNYAC selection and the Buffalo State Athlete of the Year for her 2017 campaign. At the conclusion of her career, she ranked third in school history with 268 points, including 146 goals and 122 assists in just 54 career games played.

She spent the 2019 season as an assistant coach with Medaille College after serving as a coaching intern at SUNY Buffalo State College in 2018 while she completed her degree in Communication. She also coached three seasons of box lacrosse with the Turtle Islanders, and has been an assistant coach for the Stampede Summer Lacrosse Club since 2019.

Relay sets school mark

The 4 x 100 relay team of Cameron Sample, Jordan Lockett, Jacob Winn, and Nick Marsowicz set a new Fredonia State outdoor record, finishing the race in 42.19 seconds. It was a regional-qualifying time, and .17 seconds behind the first-place Cortland team.

Pellechia earns fourth SUNYAC title

For the fourth time in four tries, pole vaulter Cara Pellechia can call herself a SUNYAC Champion. Pellechia cleared 3.50m to take the outdoor title at the SUNYAC Meet on Friday.
