Hilldale dominates the pool

The Fredonia State men's swim team competed in its first home meet since January of 2019, and handily defeated Jamestown Community College. Ian Hilldale won three individual races and one relay.

Here's a look at the first-place finishers:
Ian Hilldale, 50 free, :23.13; 100 free, 50.64; and 200 free, 1:53.11
Riker Smith, 50 fly, :27.03; and 50 backstroke, :29.45

The Devils return to the Steele Hall Natatorium on Oct. 30 to take on SUNY Buffalo State.

The Fredonia State baseball team extended its win streak to four games with 10-4 and 5-4 wins over visiting Hilbert College on Monday. Christian Pagano connected for a two-run homerun in Game 1, his third in as many games. Alex Gannon added a two-run blast of his own in the opener.

Day 2 results at Cortland

The 4x100 relay team took third place, and turned in a AARTFC qualifying time on the second day of the Cortland Classic on Saturday. Jacob Winn -- a member of the relay team -- also turned in a third place in the finals of the 100m dash.

After qualifying for the finals on Friday, Cara Pellechia finished fourth in the 100m dash, and also turned in a fifth-place finish in the 200m for the top two finishes for the Fredonia State women's track and field team.
