Holiday Concert on Dec. 2 to be recorded for PBS

A Fredonia Holiday Concert is slated for Saturday, Dec. 2 at 8 p.m. in King Concert Hall. The concert will be recorded for broadcast on WNED-TV PBS on Friday, Dec. 22  at 10 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 24 at 4:30 p.m.

The King Concert Hall event is free and the public is invited to attend, wearing their best holiday attire!

Performing groups include the Fredonia Chamber Choir under the direction of Dr. Vernon Huff, the Fredonia College Choir under the direction of Dr. Adam Luebke, and the Fredonia Camerata under the direction of Lecturer Brent Weber. Among the works to be performed are "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," "Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day," "Joy to the World," "Five Sided S'vivon," and "Pat-a-pan."

The concert will also be uploaded to the School of Music website and YouTube channel. In addition, it will also be available to all New York State PBS stations on Dec. 22, and be available to PBS (North America) and PBS+ in 2024. 

The Kay Hardesty Logan Foundation provided funds for the project through the Fredonia College Foundation.

Members of the community are urged to join the campus community for a great evening of holiday cheer.

School of Music Assistant Professor Don Marrazzo gave a master class at Houghton University and also did a two-day residency at Detroit Opera to work with members of the Resident Artist Program.
